Our client, an American investment company, was established 40 years ago and operates in markets outside the Americas. The company and its subsidiaries now manage more than US$200 billion assets for investors around the world – institutions as well as private individuals. From its Investment Administration department in Luxemburg it supports the management of the offices in continental Europe.

In order to ensure the protection of the company, its reputation, regulatory risk and investors through participation in the monitoring, identification, reporting and management of regulatory and marketing risks and through the provision of proactive support to specific business areas, our client created the position of an Compliance Monitoring Senior Manager (m/f) to support the Head of Compliance.

Key tasks and responsibilities:
·        Compliance Assessment
·        To ensure the business complies with the appropriate compliance rules and regulations together with group policies, undertake compliance monitoring and participate in implementing effective regulatory risk controls.
·        Define, oversee, coordinate and update a risk based compliance monitoring programme for the relevant countries liaising with Risk, Internal Audit and Central Monitoring and Assurance.
·        Complete the monitoring programme as agreed, identify areas of concern, communicate these to management and follow through corrective actions. Ensure that the process is properly documented (e.g. detailed working papers outlining tests undertaken and results found, formal reports completed for senior management).
·        Keep up-to-date with the regulatory developments and assess the implications  for the business
·        Keep close to the business in order to assess any areas of  regulatory risks, highlight the risks and liaise with the business to improve controls
·        Undertake ad hoc reviews and in particular provide support to team colleagues where issues arise that require further investigation and/or control improvements.

Qualifications and experience:
·        At leased 6 years total working experience: 3 years of it in Compliance & strong audit background
·        Knowledge in the Fund Industry would be an advantage
·        Fluent in English and French –  Dutch, Italian and/or Swedish would be an advantage
·        Pro-active team player with the ability to work independently
·        Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and able to communicate at all levels
·        Strong organizational skills, with ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines while working in a high pressure environment
