Your Mission

The Senior Fund Accountant handles all aspects of fund accounting: authorisation of journal voucher entries and NAV control. As part of the NAV review the fund accountant also reviews cash and securities reconciliation, trade input, pricing fluctuations, financial statements etc.

-         Maintain highest level of service quality and performance in compliance with LFA mission and objectives.

-         Ensure accurate net asset value calculation and maintain accurate accounting records for selected clients

-         Ensure timeliness of client service in accordance with agreed deadlines

-         Ensure accurate completion of additional services as per agreement

-         Maintain highest possible level of client service.

-         Promptly reply to accounting queries from investment centers (portfolio manager and back-office).

-         If identified, report possible breaches with prospectus and management regulations or use of exceptional instruments to fund oversight dpt. The Fund accountant is however not responsible to identify breaches.

-         Complete accurately  daily, monthly and annual control checklists

-         Ensure accuracy of fund financial statements drafted by financial reporting

-         Ensure compliance with accounting policies and GAAP

-         Make proof of sense and sound judgment and risk awareness: promptly escalate all exceptions as defined by thresholds in internal procedures (pricing , ageing rec. items, etc ) to supervisors.

-         Minimise number of errors

-         Play a key role in developing the expertise of fund accountants

-         Assist management to develop and improve procedures and processes

-         Support management in delivery of projects and in treatment of administrative matters

-         Ensure compliance with budget in performing client services and report all special client services to supervisor

-         Ensure compliance with departmental procedures

-         Inform management of all risks of error and actual errors as soon as detected and evaluate their impact

Your profile

-         Strong knowledge of general accounting and Lux investment funds accounting

-         Sound knowledge of financial instruments 

-         Minimum BAC + 4 degree in accounting, finance or economics or relevant experience

-         Minimum 4 years experience in a similar position

-         Fluency in English and French

-         Strong analytical and communication skills

-         Good problem-solving skills

-         Good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Access

-         Team player

-         Attention to details and constant focus on quality and client service

-         Good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Access

-         Basic project management skills.
