The conclusion is clear, we live in a world of Data! The top 5 of the global hottest skills includes data storage, retrieval, and analysis.

The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) skills constitute a high majority of the top 25. As a second group we can observe Communications and Marketing skills. Indeed, technologies are growing up and we need technical marketers to manage digital campaigns. It can also be justified by the fact that these professionals are highly educated about communication tools such as professional networks online.

To go further, LinkedIn had a look over 10 countries. According to the results, other skills appeared for each countries with a majority of technical skills such as Mechanical, Electrical or even Languages. LinkedIn notes that in the United States, the demand in languages was higher than in other countries,  as a minority of Americans speak a second language (18 %).

In France, the top 5 is mainly focused on Statistical Analysis, Data extraction, Cloud, and Programming; Marketing and SEO, and finally the IBM Systems.
