PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Support developments to the group’s consolidation and financial reporting processes and systems to strengthen quality framework
  • Prepare and execute key monthly IFRS consolidation steps, such as:
  • Checking group ownership relationships
  • Updating FX rates
  • Posting monthly consolidation journals
  • Supervising the intercompany reconciliation process
  • Resolve problems in the closing process in collaboration with team members across the group including other Finance functions
  • Complete standard monthly quality checklists identifying issues and following up where necessary with the relevant stakeholders
  • Perform analytical review procedures on the group’s consolidated balance sheet and income statement, performing roll-forward analyses of specific consolidated balance sheet positions such as fixed assets, provisions and deferred income
  • Support the drafting of internal and external financial reporting including consolidated IFRS financial statements
  • Work with the Tax team in the coordination of the tax accounting processes ensuring that all necessary steps are performed, and all stakeholders follow the agreed processes, supporting the country-by-country tax reporting activities
  • Be responsible for the group’s cash-flow reporting guidelines ensuring they are up-to-date, communicated and trained, and consistently applied by all subsidiaries of the Group
  • Maintain up to date IFRS knowledge including an understanding of new and upcoming standards
  • Back-up other team members as needed

 

COMPETENCIES

  • A good up-to-date technical understanding of financial reporting under IFRS
  • Strong analytical skills and care in understanding and checking information
  • Ability to handle pressure and the flexibility to be available at peak pressure moments
  • Ability to plan own time carefully and to prioritize
  • Ability to communicate and guide clearly in an international environment

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Partially qualified accountant (ACCA or equivalent), preferably with a “Big-4” background
  • Minimum two years of relevant work experience in financial reporting or auditing of an international group
  • Fluency in English, other languages, especially German, are an asset
