Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (“DEI”) Specialist

 

Position Overview

The DEI Specialist will support IFDS Europe management to execute the DEI strategy of the business, across the core pillars of Culture and Engagement, Corporate Policy & Practice and Learning & Development, to help the business to continue to build an inclusive, diverse and equitable workplace. The DEI Specialist will support management in the design, implementation, and execution of diversity, equity, and inclusion interventions throughout the business.

 

Job grade:

The role is a permanent Officer role in the business, requiring 40 hours per week; the role will report directly to the Head of HR in IFDS Europe. The role allows for hybrid working, being a combination of office based and home based working. This role is based in Luxembourg.

 

Required Skills and competencies:

  • Excellent understanding of DEI principles, practices, and legal requirements
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels within the organisation
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the use of data to guide decisions
  • Able to demonstrate experience in managing multiple initiatives and priorities in a fast-paced work environment
  • High level of emotional intelligence and cultural competency
  • Identify opportunities for continuous learning and professional development in DEI

 

Qualifications: Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in DEI, Human Resources, Social Sciences, or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion—background in financial services industry or professional environment preferred but not essential
  • Proven track record in successful development and implementation of effective DEI initiatives/programs

 

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will be varied and may evolve in line with areas of strategic business focus. Key responsibilities will include:

Key responsibilities include collaborating with the management team and key stakeholders across the business to evolve the DEI strategy and drive implementation of agreed actions. Assisting the business [leadership team, management team, Employee Resource Groups (“ERGs”) and employees] to foster inclusivity and to champion accountability.

  • Advise and raise awareness within senior management around DEI issues for culture change and organisational policy.
  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team, Management Team, ERGs & Employees to integrate the DEI principles into all aspects of the business.
  • Drive impactful initiatives that foster a more inclusive and equitable workplace, championing best practices and trends in DEI to be a thought leader on the subject.
  • Adhere to company values of Professional, Accountable, Client Focused, Excellence and Leadership (PACE &L) in all tasks and interactions

 

Initiative development and implementation:

  • Implement and manage initiatives that build diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Develop metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of DEI initiatives and provide progress reports to the Leadership Team.
  • Track and report how much diversity is in the workplace, from recruitment and retention to promotion rates among different demographics.
  • Measurement of the impact of the DEI initiatives and training programs in qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Advise on suitable training programs that address unconscious bias, cultural competency, and inclusive leadership.

 

Policy and Compliance:

  • Review and recommend changes to the existing policies and procedures in the business to ensure that they are all-inclusive and non-discriminatory.
  • Ensure business compliance with relevant laws and regulations in diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Handle sensitive matters/issues related to DEI with professionalism and confidentiality

 

Collaboration and Advocacy:

  • Work closely with Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and other departments toward attracting, retaining, and developing a diverse workforce
  • Work closely with IFDS ERGs and with ERGs in our shareholder organisations to support the initiatives towards developing DEI goals
  • Leverage relationships with external bodies, community organisations, and professional associations to boost the company's DEI work
  • Attend DEI conferences, workshops, and obtaining relevant certifications and share key insights from industry in the DEI space to maintain DEI know-how and best practice knowledge

 

Communication and Engagement:

  • Develop internal and external communications that articulate the vision of DEI and share success stories
  • Create a safe environment for discussing DEI matters; engage employees with feedback and resulting initiatives
  • Measure levels of employee satisfaction and engagement with DEI programs through surveys and feedback mechanisms

 

Communications:

  • Make DEI communications meaningful and relevant within the Ireland and Luxembourg locations
  • Embed DEI messaging within communications related messages whenever possible
