Manager Flight Dispatch

TASK RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinates the short-term (rolling 3 days) activities for all IACC control departments involved in Cargolux operations.
• Organizes the communication to all stakeholders of Cargolux operations.
• Responsible for coordination of regular, punctual, and cost-effective flight plans
• Responsible for conformity of flight dispatch and operations control documents with applicable requirements
• Responsible for safety and quality of the overall activities of the Flight Dispatch and Operations Control function
• Supervises and maintains the quality level of Flight Dispatch services and Operational Control activities and their compliance with the OMA, the IACC Manual and all applicable regulations
• Ensures aircraft allocation to the Company’s flight plan, considering airworthiness and performance versus mission requirements.
• Ensures the transmission of all safety critical failure notices and reports to the IACC Director
• Proposes revisions to the IACC Manual and associated procedures to reflect the actual operational demands
• Disseminates new or updated procedures to Flight Dispatchers and Ops Controllers via email or Flight Notice to Dispatchers after prior approval by the IACC Director. Maintains records of these notices in a suitably named electronic folder (Teams Wiki)
• Implements and enforces all operational control standards, policies and procedures pertaining to the Flight Dispatcher and Operations Control function.
• Maintains and validates airport reference information in AIMS and liaising with airport services.
• Ensures a list of contact details and airport reference details are available for all stations and validates them periodically.
• Ensures timely support to Network Management in case of airport slot violations.
• Manages staff schedule, trainings, performance, competencies and workload, as well as communication and instructions to staff.
• Manages internal and external audits in the relevant departments.
• Ensures communication and coordination with other departments, IACC and Flight Ops management.
• Reports to the IACC Director.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:

• At least 7 years of duty management experience as Ops Control Manager or Ops Controller.
• Holder of a flight dispatcher license
• Demonstrated competency & experience as flight dispatcher and/or Operations Controller
• Demonstrated competency & experience in analyzing issues and writing reports or assignments.
• Sound knowledges of operational control as a system
• Expert level on Lido flight planning systems (Data Maintenance).
• Sound knowledges of the principles of aircraft weight & balance control and its practical application
• Exposure to airline load control systems is an advantage.
• Sound knowledges of aviation meteorology and weather information delivery systems for pilots.
• Sound knowledges of overflight/landing permits
• Sound knowledges about airport slots
• Experience in working effectively in an operational, dynamic working environment requiring prioritized decision making in line with the main tasks and objectives of the position.
• A university degree, preferably in aviation-related disciplines is regarded as an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Full-time position based in Luxembourg
• Certificate of good conduct (Casier judiciaire, Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis) will be required in case of positive selection
