Resilience & Continuity  Officer

Organisational Context:

With its “Making the Difference” strategy, ING addresses significant changes impacting the banking industry; from changing customer expectations to FinTechs, regulatory requirements and digitalization. ING’s future aim is to be the next generation digital bank, offering a single digital platform or “ecosystem” where customers can find solutions to all of their financial and finance-related needs. This platform will provide a customer experience that is clear, convenient and consistent across borders, and will be open to selected third-party products and services.

To enable execution of the Making the Difference strategy, ING has setup an Operational Design, Control and Resilience (ODCR) department which is a team that works closely with CEO/COO as well as representatives from different stakeholders across the Bank. Within ING Luxembourg this activity is performed by Safe Business Office (SBO).

Within SBO, the new activity Resilience & Continuity will focus on realizing the specific external requirements around Operational Resilience.

Role context:

The ongoing regulatory demands in the financial services industry mean ING must increase its efforts to ensure a compliant and future-proof organisation which delivers safe and secure processes, resilient enough to withstand the challenges ahead. While ING has been doing a lot in the field of Operational Resilience (ORS) over the past few years and many building blocks are in place (with potential areas for maturing) there is no e2e oversight and understanding of the ORS-capabilities as they are currently running in silos and are scattered with different maturity levels. Therefore, one integrated concept but also a supporting organization to deal with it is mandatory. The objective of the  Resilience & Continuity Officer is to contribute to a successful delivery of ING's Operational Resilience strategy, by bridging the gap between design and execution whilst keeping our bank safe, secure and compliant.
