Waagner-Biro Luxembourg Stage Systems S.A. is part of the Waagner-Biro Stage Systems Group, one of the world's largest suppliers of stage technology, with headquarters in Austria. As one of the global market leaders, the company develops and installs stage technology systems for opera houses, theatres, music halls, multi-purpose halls, and cruise ships. The main focus at the Luxembourg location in Rodange is developing the safety-related control system for the stage machinery "Computer-Aided Theatre" (C⋅A⋅T), which uses state-of-the-art technology to control the upper stage and lower stage machinery in more than 200 venues worldwide.

Join our multi-national setup & commissioning teams working in theatres, opera houses, and cruise ships worldwide, focusing on Europe and Asia. Independently organise your installation project and perform configuration, commissioning, acceptance testing, and training of our C⋅A⋅T stage control systems that control entertainment power flying systems and stage machinery, including lifts, turntables, stage wagons, and other movables on stage.

  • You hold a degree in electrical engineering, automation, or technical informatics. Career starters are welcome. Alternatively, you have completed vocational training in this field and have several years of professional experience in a similar position.
  • You are enthusiastic about the design and commissioning of drive systems and the associated control and switchgear systems. You can read, improve and suitably sketch the associated circuit diagrams.
  • A comprehensive interest in the mechanical solutions found and their possible integration into the control system is necessary.
  • Any knowledge of servo drives, inverters, digital interfaces, common programming languages, PLC programming or CAD programmes is very welcome.
  • In a senior position, you would coordinate the design of the control system for the project and later take it over independently. You coordinate and verify the work of subcontractors and suppliers in your projects, and plan and drive the project from order receipt to implementation on the construction site. On the construction site, you will lead the commissioning team that will commission the control system together with you.
  • Willingness for international travelling is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards as well as hazard and risk assessment processes is an asset.
  • You are generally familiar with project management methods and have initial experience in their application.
  • You are proficient in the usual office and project management software and can confidently organise and lead video conferences.
  • You have strong intercultural competences.
  • You understand target orientated working methods and cost management.
  • You have strong communication skills, and you are a team player.
  • You have a high degree of self-motivation and hands-on mentality.
  • You are fluent in English, written and spoken.
  • You hold EU citizenship or a passport that will grant you easy access to work permits for international work sites.
  • Knowledge of French and German would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Japanese or Korean languages would be an asset.

We offer a permanent position in full-time with an attractive gross salary according to your education and professional experience, as well as the advantages of an international company with headquarters in Vienna and locations in Europe and Asia.

Training and development opportunities as well as an exciting, multicultural project environment and cooperation in a team with outstanding expertise are part of the working environment.

A varied and challenging job with a lot of creative freedom and the opportunity to work independently and take responsibility for the success right from the start.

We also offer you the opportunity to work from home for up to 50% of your working time once you have completed your induction period.

A career with Waagner-Biro Stage Systems delivers chances and challenges alike. Working in an internationally renowned company is exciting, but it also represents enrichment in personal and professional development. As a project engineer, you are the key person to ensure our C⋅A⋅T projects' quality and timeline.
