Founded in 2001, our client is specialized in business solutions and structuring knowledge to use it to solve problems and produce IT systems. Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing company. Therefore they are looking to reinforce their organization with a Database Expert (m/f) in order to work within an integrated team of developers, architects and product managers for a major European software system.
 
Key tasks and responsibilities:

·   Responsible for design of databases, development of stored procedures, writing of data migration
     scripts;
·   Preparing and execution of performance tests and tuning;
·   Implementation of export-transformation- loading of databases;
·   Data warehouse design and maintenance;
·   Setup and administration of data base clusters;
·   DBMS setup configuration;
·   Contribution to the entire software life cycle from initial design, tuning and maintenance of databases;
·   Design, deploy and monitor high- availability database architectures;
·   Design and run performance tests for performance testing;
·   Work with DB2 graphical interface and command line interface (CLI);
·   Knowledge of Linux, Unix, windows.

Qualifications and experience:

·   M.S. in Engineering or Computer Science;
·   Practical working knowledge;
·   Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French;
·   Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills;
·   Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
·   4+ years in database design;
·   3+ years in maintenance, administration;
·   3+ years in IBM DB2 clustered, high-availability environments;
·   2+ years in large-scale ETL projects and data warehousing;
·   1+ years in database performance testing and tuning;
·   Optional (Desirable):
     -         2+ years with Oracle and/or MS SQL server,
     -         1+ years in IBM z-OS,
     -         Familiarity with standard web architectures.
