Your role
The successful candidates will join the Computer Vision, Machine Intelligence and Imaging research group, led by Prof. Djamila Aouada, to conduct research in Artificial Intelligence with a primary focus on Computer Vision, pattern recognition, and visual generative modeling. CVI2 offers the opportunity to contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects, including collaborations with industrial partners as well as national and international academic initiatives. These projects span the full research and development lifecycle, requiring large-scale experimentation, real-time system implementation, data acquisition and curation, preprocessing, model training, validation and rigorous performance evaluation.The group benefits from advanced research infrastructure, including the Computer Vision Lab, equipped with state-of-the-art visual sensors and acquisition systems, along with the Zero-G Lab, a unique facility designed to emulate proximity operations under space-like conditions.
In addition, CVI2 provides high-performance GPU computing resources that support the design and training of advanced AI models. The research agenda of CVI2 focuses on cutting-edge topics such as 3D understanding and generation, media forensics, anomaly detection, multimodal learning with an emphasis on vision-language models, computer vision applications for space.
Key responsabilities:
- Shape research directions and delivering high-impact results
- Attract funding in cooperation with industrial partners
- Contribute to the writing of competitive research proposals
- Coordinate research projects and delivering outputs
- Disseminate results through scientific publications in top AI tier-venues
- Provide guidance to PhD and MSc students
- Contribute to teaching and advanced seminars
- Design and executing large-scale experimental pipelines
- Develop and deploying real-time AI solutions
- Participate in organizing relevant workshops and demonstrations
- Participate in outreach activities to promote CVI2's research activities and citizen science
Your profile
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field
- Strong research track record, preferably with publications in leading AI and Computer Vision venues
- Strong programming skills
- Solid mathematical foundation, including linear algebra, probability, statistics, and optimization
- Broad and in-depth experience with machine learning algorithms and deep learning methodologies
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Fluency in English is required
- Strong scientific writing skills, including preparation of high-quality technical reports and research papers
