The successful candidate will join the SVV research group, headed by Prof. Domenico Bianculli. The group focuses on the development and design of reliable, safe, and secure software systems, carrying out both upstream activities such as requirements quality assurance and regulatory compliance, as well as downstream verification & validation activities, such as software testing and runtime verification. Your role
We offer an attractive post-doctoral position in the context of the FutureFinTech, funded by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR), aims to establish a Centre of Excellence in Financial Technologies. It develops AI- and software engineering-based solutions to automate the monitoring and verification of financial services' compliance with regulatory requirements. Within its lighthouse on AI, compliance, and risk management, FutureFinTech leverages advanced AI techniques to analyze and operationalize regulations, enabling automated compliance assessment and risk management.
The position holder will be required to perform the following tasks:
- Carrying out research in the predefined areas
- Implementing prototype tools
- Managing and contributing to national and international research projects
- Preparing project deliverables
- Disseminating results through scientific publications
- Presenting results in well-known international conferences and workshops
- Providing guidance to PhD, MSc, and BSc students
- Organizing relevant workshops and demonstrations
- Participating in proposal drafting to attract industrial, national, and European projects
Your profile
We are looking for a motivated candidate who can work independently and efficiently, is proactive in solving problems, and has strong analytical skills. The candidate should be interested in working in an international team with a multi-disciplinary set of backgrounds, where sharing resources and teamwork is essential.
Qualification: PhD degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or Software Engineering
Experience:
- Expertise, supported by a sound publication track record in relevant international conferences and top journals, in the following topics:
- Requirements Engineering
- Natural Language Processing and Understanding
- Text mining and information extraction
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience with information extraction from legal documents would be considered an advantage
Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (C1) are required
