Information System Architect
DGT's IT Development Team looking for an experienced System Architect to focus on the following tasks:
Participating in reviewing and improving the architecture and implementation of the Euramis back-end system and the new Euramis-NG platform;
Coordinating and contributing to the change in architecture to cope with the technical constraints, constantly growing amount of data and the increase of the application's work load;
Participating in reviewing and improving the architecture and implementation of the Euramis back-end interfaces with the other interfaces in a service oriented architecture;
Perform data analysis and data modelling to maintain, optimize and extend the applications and their interaction with both the Oracle-based linguistic resources database and various user front-ends of the system;
Participating in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the Euramis back-end systems;
Analysis of production issues and elaboration of specific solutions (bug fixing), working in close cooperation with the data centre and central IT services;
Assisting in testing, analysis, technical documentation, deployment, and evaluation;
Quality assurance of new modules/developments;
Participating in multi-lingual technical working groups and progress meetings;
Analysis and implement new functionalities and change requests from the participating institutions;
Draft high quality analytical and technical documentation;
Provision of studies, assessments, technical guidance and evaluations.
Successful studies in an IT and experience corresponding to the profile;
Proven experience in architecture and design of mission-critical IT systems and professional Software Engineering in general;
Strong analytical and drafting skills. Ability to work under pressure and to deliver to tight deadlines;
Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings;
Ability to work independently;
Knowledge and expertise in the field of translation memories is required;
Minimum 9 years' experience in IT;
Minimum 9 years' experience with multi-user SQL-based database design, implementation and operation, preferably Oracle;
Experience in C/C-programming;
Experience in Perl programming;
In-depth knowledge of Unix, XML, TMX and Unix shell programming;
Experience with of open source solutions for service oriented data workflow solutions and search tools like Apache Solr and Elasticsearch is a plus;
Proven experience in a multi-lingual application.
The candidate will work in close collaboration with other developers and should therefore show the ability of working successfully in a multi-lingual/multi-cultural team.
The candidate will have to coordinate work with other developers and share pro-actively his technical knowledge thus contributing to an efficient and effective manner of working.
The candidate will have to analyze written requirements documents, design technical solutions and integrate them into the existing architecture application. If necessary, adaptations of the application architecture will have to be elaborated and implemented, respecting maintainability and performance requirements.
