For the Service ‘Environmental Hygiene and Human Biological Monitoring’ (Department Health Protection) in a full time position (40h/week), with an fixed term contract starting at the earliest convenience.
Job description:
- Work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Laboratory Responsible and Technical Responsibles, who report to the Head of Service;
- Receive, register (encode) and process samples;
- Prepare human biological and environmental samples for the analysis of organic and inorganic pollutants using GC-MS(/MS), LC-MS/MS, and ICP-MS.
- Assist in the validation of methods developed in accordance with the requirements of the quality system;
- Support the daily maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment;
- Participate in daily quality control activities including document management, drafting procedures, calibration, metrology, etc.);
- Participate in the stock management and purchases of consumables.
This list of tasks should not be considered exhaustive. Tasks may vary according to the specific needs of the unit.
Job specific skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (BAC+3 or BAC+2) as a laboratory technician ideally with experience in analytical chemistry
- Authorization to practice as a “Laborantin” or “ATM de Laboratoire” in Luxembourg from the Ministry of Health is mandatory;
- Working experience with LC-MS/MS, GC-MS(/MS) and/or ICP-MS;
- Experience in the analysis of organic and inorganic compounds, preferably in the field of occupational and environmental health (human biological or environmental samples);
- Experience of working in an accredited laboratory (ISO 17025 and/or 15189);
- Proficiency in French or English (oral and written). Knowledge of Luxembourgish and/or German will be considered as an asset
