About the FSTM
The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.
The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) at the University of Luxembourg contributes multidisciplinary expertise in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences and Medicine.
Through its dual mission of teaching and research, the FSTM seeks to generate and disseminate knowledge and train new generations of responsible citizens in order to better understand, explain and advance society and environment we live in.
A new Bachelor's degree in Medicine started in September 2020. Three Medical Specializations, in General Medicine, Neurology and Oncology are also offered. Four new Bachelors of Science in Nursing started in 2023 (Bachelors in the fields of surgery, anesthesia and critical care, pediatrics, psychiatry) and a Bachelor in general nursing care was launched in 2024. In September 2025 started the Bachelor of science in Midwifery and in Medical Imaging. The University of Luxembourg will organize these Bachelors by combining theoretical training using the latest technology with practical training in hospitals, clinics, or outpatient clinics in collaboration with the various institutes in the country and foreign partners. In this context, the University is recruiting a Research Scientist in Nursing Science-Pediatrics.
Your role
The candidate will be under the line management of Prof. Dr. Marie Friedel and will contribute directly to the Bachelor of Pediatric Nursing. The academic part will be divided between teaching and research:

More particularly, the presence on the campus of students in medicine, biology, nursing and midwifery provides us with the possibility to establish common courses, to help students discover and understand the specificities of their different training and future professions at a very early stage and to have them work together in modern interprofessional simulation environments. This pooling of teaching will be based on the collaborative and joint work of teachers from the different health programmes.
Research:
The candidate will be responsible for developing an own research programme and to contribute, according to the expertise to the current Nursing Education Research Programmes.
