Your mission:
Within the Operations department, you lead the BCL’s portfolio management section. The section is managing BCL own fund portfolios, ECB reserves and mandates on behalf of third parties. As head of the section, you have the hierarchical responsibility over a team of portfolio managers. You intervene at strategic, tactical and operational level on portfolio management actions and decisions for the Bank. You act as key contact person within BCL and vis-à-vis BCL stakeholders in respect to portfolio management and reserve management services.
Your responsibilities:
- In cooperation with the head of department you lead the BCL’s portfolio management team and make sure that own portfolios and third parties’ portfolios are managed in accordance with the applicable investment rules;
- You guide the portfolio management team in their tasks and set up work plans for individual team members;
- You organise regular team meetings and ensure the communication within the team;
- You monitor and analyse financial markets and evaluate the risks and opportunities for existing and future investments;
- You act as a contact person for the third-party mandates, market counterparts and other stakeholders;
- You attend and prepare reporting for BCL’s investment committees;
- You represent the BCL in working groups at ECB level.
Your profile:
- You hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in finance, economics, financial mathematics or related relevant field. The CFA certification will be considered as an asset;
- You have at least 10 years of experience in portfolio management and managerial experience as head of a portfolio management team would be considered as an advantage.
- You have proven knowledge of financial markets and instruments and a thorough understanding of financial market;
- You have a very good understanding of quantitative financial risks and investment strategies;
- You have excellent analytical skills;
- You have strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- You are fluent in English; knowledge of French, German and Luxembourgish is an advantage;
- You have strong business ethics;
- You have excellent command of Microsoft Office and Bloomberg; knowledge of the WallStreet system would be an advantage;
- You are rigorous and autonomous in your work and act proactively;
- You are a team player, reliable and demonstrate good resistance to stress.
