Specialist (SR) Fuel Management

The position helps keep Cargolux flying by ensuring jet fuel is available where and when it is needed, at the right cost and with the highest operational reliability. Combining fuel supply chain expertise, commercial awareness, operational oversight, data analytics, and project execution, the role plays a key part in optimizing the airline's largest cost.
Working across Global Operations, Ground Engineering, Network Management, Flight Operations, Sustainability, airports, fuel suppliers, and industry partners, the position turns data into action, drives performance improvements, supports strategic fuel initiatives, and helps shape the future of fuel management across the global network.

Task Responsibilities

• Monitor and coordinate fuel supply and fueling activities across Cargolux's global network to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted operations.

• Support the self-supply and trading activities of jet fuel and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) through the company's subsidiary, CVFuel.

• Lead flight tankering initiatives, balancing cost optimization, fuel availability, and operational performance.

• Build and maintain strategic relationships with fuel suppliers, infrastructure partners, airport operators, and government stakeholders while monitoring supplier performance and driving continuous improvement.

• Support Cargolux's interests in international fuel consortia at several major airports, contributing to governance, investments, and strategic decision-making.

• Develop reports, dashboards, and business analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to pricing, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.

• Lead cross-functional projects, process improvement initiatives, technology deployments, and digitalization efforts.

• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, sustainability requirements, and internal governance policies.

Essential Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience including project management of logistics operations, with a proven track record of delivering complex initiatives on time and within scope
• Bachelor or Master's Degree in Engineering, Logistics, Mathematics, or a related field
• Strong data analysis capabilities and analytical thinking, with the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies
• Demonstrated experience in operational troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and cross-functional collaboration
• High proficiency in Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint, or similar data visualization and reporting tools
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to global stations, as required
• Experience leading airline operations projects, with exposure to financial analysis, performance tracking, and operational optimization
• Ability to work under pressure, in fast-paced, dynamic environments
• Familiarity with commodity trading, energy markets, and airline regulatory frameworks
• Knowledge of data governance, KPIs development, and dashboard creation to support operational decision-making
• Fluency in written and spoken English; French is a plus.

Working Conditions

• Full time position, based in Luxembourg
