About the Concept: Maison Melu
Maison Melu is a brand-new hospitality concept launching in Luxembourg City, blending the intimacy of a boutique hotel with the sophistication of luxury long-term residential living. While we embrace modern technology—digital keys, kiosk check-ins, and seamless connectivity—our essence lies in authentic human connection and genuine warmth.
We’re seeking a Hotel Manager who will become the heart and soul of Maison Melu. More than an operator, you are a true host—charismatic, hands-on, and passionate about creating memorable guest experiences. You’ll live on-site and shape this property from the ground up, setting the tone for excellence, comfort, and community.
Key Responsibilities :
- Guest Experience & Hosting :
- Be the visible, approachable host who embodies the Maison Melu spirit.
- Anticipate guest needs, personalize interactions, and ensure every stay feels effortless.
- Handle feedback and complaints with professionalism, turning challenges into opportunities to impress.
- Develop and implement service recovery practices that guarantee satisfaction and loyalty.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure a seamless, elevated guest journey from arrival to departure.
- Operations & Front of House :
- Oversee daily hotel and residence operations, including reception, housekeeping, and guest services.
- Supervise check-in/check-out processes with efficiency, accuracy, and warmth.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and well-functioning property through regular inspections and adherence to safety protocols.
- Ensure all systems (PMS, digital keys, guest communication tools) are effectively utilized and staff are well-trained.
- Communicate effectively with the local management company to align operational and strategic objectives.
- Team Leadership & Development :
- Lead, motivate, and support the front-line team to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
- Manage scheduling, staffing levels, and shift continuity.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and performance reviews to foster growth and accountability.
- Ensure onboarding and ongoing training reflect Maison Melu’s standards of hospitality.
- Cultivate a positive culture built on initiative, collaboration, and genuine care.
- Financial & Strategic Management :
- Monitor daily revenue, expenses, and key performance indicators to ensure operational efficiency and financial health.
- Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Demonstrate strong strategic thinking in areas of sales, marketing, and revenue management to optimize performance and profitability.
- Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and hospitality regulations in Luxembourg.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance guest satisfaction and financial results.
What We’re Looking For :
- A natural host: energetic, personable, and genuinely passionate about making people feel at home.
- Live-in commitment: This is a residential position for an individual or couple who will fully embrace and enrich the Maison Melu community.
- Languages: Fluent in English and French; other languages are a strong asset.
- Experience: Proven success in hotel or hospitality management, ideally in a boutique or mixed-stay environment.
- Communication: Able to collaborate effectively with the local management company and other key partners.
- Strategic mindset: Strong grasp of sales, marketing, revenue management, and hotel financials.
Bonus Skills :
- Background in concierge or guest relations in a luxury or boutique environment.
- Familiarity with digital hospitality tools (PMS, digital key systems, CRM platforms).
- Experience managing both short-term guests and long-term residents.
