Our client, a Professional of the Financial Sector (PSF) supervised by the CSSF, is a leading independent provider with a global footprint, yet maintaining a human-sized structure in Luxembourg. Located near the Belgian border, the company places employee well-being at the heart of its priorities, offering a modern office, work-from-home options, and an excellent commitment to work-life balance.
To further strengthen their governance, the Management Team is looking to onboard a seasoned Head of Compliance. You will join a highly skilled and mature compliance team (with members holding over 10 years of experience). The ambition for this role is to find a senior leader who can act as a true mentor to further elevate the knowledge and expertise of the senior staff over the coming years.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and supported by the partners, you will work independently and lead a small, dedicated compliance team (acting as the second line of defense):
- Leadership & Mentoring: Guide, challenge, and develop the existing senior compliance staff and team members.
- RC Function: Act as the Responsible for Compliance (RC) for the PSF, serving as the main point of contact for Luxembourg's Regulatory Authorities (CSSF).
- Policy Management: Review, update, implement, and manage the AML-CFT/Compliance plan and policies.
- Monitoring: Conduct ongoing compliance monitoring based on a risk-based Compliance Monitoring Programme.
- Reporting: Oversee the compliance team, review findings reports, ensure remediation completion, and assist in reporting relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to the Board of Directors.
- Compliance Culture: Participate in internal committees and Board of Directors' meetings, while maintaining and developing a mature compliance culture across the firm.
Your Profile
Mandatory Requirement: You must have previously held a Head of Compliance role within Luxembourg, ideally within a PSF (fund and corporate services industry).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 to 10+ years of experience in a similar role. A clean track record with CSSF inspections is highly valued.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in civil law, corporate law, or a related discipline.
- Languages: Fluent in English and French; knowledge of German is considered a strong asset.
- Technical Skills: Excellent knowledge of Luxembourg's laws and regulatory framework.
- Soft Skills: A mature approach to communication and leadership, an independent yet team-oriented work style, and a desire to share knowledge.
The Offer
- A competitive compensation package up to €120k (negotiable based on experience and suitability for the role).
- A meritocratic environment that rewards initiatives and offers financial assistance for further professional studies.
- An exceptional corporate culture with an extremely low staff turnover rate, supported by a very active sports and social committee.
