We are currently looking for 1 to 2 Switchboard Operators to join a team working within the European Parliament in Luxembourg.
The role is focused on handling incoming telephone communications and ensuring that calls are efficiently directed to the appropriate departments, services or contacts within the institution.
This is a non-technical position and does not require an IT background or ITIL certification.
Main Responsibilities:
As a Switchboard Operator, your main responsibilities will include:
- Handling incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
- Identifying callers' needs and directing calls to the appropriate department, service or contact.
- Providing basic information and guidance to callers when appropriate.
- Ensuring accurate and efficient call dispatching.
- Managing multiple incoming calls while maintaining a high level of service.
- Communicating effectively with internal teams and contacts.
- Contributing to a professional and high-quality telephone reception service.
Profile:
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have previous experience in a switchboard, call centre, reception, customer service or telephone-based role.
- Are comfortable handling and dispatching a high volume of calls.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Are professional, patient and service-oriented.
- Are able to communicate clearly with a wide range of interlocutors.
- Can work effectively in an international and multicultural environment.
Language Requirements:
- French: mandatory
- English: mandatory
- German: strong asset
A good professional command of both French and English is essential for the position.
Technical Requirements:
No specific IT expertise is required for this role.
ITIL certification is not required.
