Our client is a leading global investment management firm, and is currently looking for their new Head of Accounting & Treasury PERE.
Key responsibilities :
- Oversee treasury operations, including liquidity planning, cash flow management, banking relationships, and capital optimisation.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies tailored to private markets, ensuring compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other standards.
- Lead the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements for private market funds and vehicles, ensuring timely delivery to stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with external fund administrators, monitoring service quality, compliance, and deadlines.
- Collaborate with investment teams on complex transactions such as joint ventures, acquisition accounting, and post-close integration.
- Implement and monitor internal controls, KPIs, and performance metrics to guarantee accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Provide technical accounting guidance during the due diligence and execution phases, including valuation and fair value considerations.
- Supervise accounting for carry vehicles, ensuring proper tracking of allocations, vesting schedules, and adherence to partnership agreements.
- Coordinate audit processes and liaise with external auditors for private market entities.
- Drive process improvements and cost optimisation initiatives to support scalability and business growth.
- Build and lead a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.
- Mentor and train team members to enhance technical expertise and leadership capabilities.
- Ensure alignment between investment objectives and accounting treatment, considering tax implications and investor reporting requirements.
- Partner with legal, tax, and operations teams to assess transaction risks and ensure compliance with documentation standards.
- CPA designation required.
- 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including private markets expertise.
- Strong knowledge of fund structures, valuation methodologies, and global standards.
- Proven leadership and ability to manage internal teams and external providers.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
