Innovation Leader

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Innovation Leader to lead and develop a company focused on financial innovation, technology platforms, and emerging business models in the financial services sector.

The Innovation Leader will be responsible for orchestrating a multidisciplinary team of subject matter experts and technology specialists, driving the company’s strategy, and ensuring the successful development of innovative solutions and knowledge platforms for financial institutions.

The role requires a strong understanding of financial services, innovation ecosystems, and emerging technologies such as FinTech, RegTech, digital assets, and embedded finance. The Innovation Leader will also act as the main representative of the company towards customers, partners, and the broader financial ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Define and implement the strategic vision and development roadmap of the company.
• Lead the development of innovative services, platforms, and knowledge initiatives for financial institutions.
• Identify strategic opportunities and initiatives within the financial services ecosystem.
• Ensure the organization remains at the forefront of financial innovation and emerging technologies.

Organizational Leadership

• Lead and coordinate a team of subject matter experts, technology specialists, and business analysts.
• Create a collaborative and high-performance environment within a small and dynamic organization.
• Ensure effective coordination between technology, market analysis, and customer engagement activities.

Customer & Market Engagement

• Act as the main contact for customers and strategic partners.
• Represent the company in customer meetings, strategic discussions, and industry events.
• Develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions and ecosystem partners.

Market Positioning & Ecosystem Engagement

• Represent the company within the European financial services ecosystem.
• Engage with financial institutions, FinTech and RegTech companies, and innovation partners.

Working Environment

• Lead a small, agile, and highly specialized team working on financial innovation topics.
• Operate within a dynamic and forward-looking environment exploring emerging financial technologies and business models.
• Engage with leading financial institutions and innovation ecosystems across the European market.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in financial services, financial innovation, consulting, or technology-driven financial environments.
• Experience gained within:
• financial institutions,
• FinTech or RegTech companies,
• consulting firms specializing in financial services, or
• innovation and transformation initiatives in the financial sector.

Skills and Expertise

• Strong understanding of financial services and banking ecosystems.
• Deep understanding of the operational challenges faced by banks and financial institutions.
• Knowledge of emerging financial technologies and innovation trends (e.g., digital assets, embedded finance, RegTech, FinTech).
• Proven leadership experience in building and managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong ability to engage with senior stakeholders and customers.
• Experience in strategy development and innovation initiatives.
