We are currently looking for an "Azure System Administrator" to strengthen the Cronos Europa team

TASKS

The contractor will:

  • Set up and maintain best-practice IT operations processes ensuring reliability, scalability and security of cloud-based systems.
  • Select, configure and operate a QoS tool integrating all relevant operational data (logs, dashboards, monitoring systems, alerts, etc.).
  • Define, document and maintain operational procedures for daily monitoring, incident handling, release management and escalation.
  • Monitor cloud services (Azure) daily; identify, investigate and resolve performance, availability and security issues.
  • Generate concise, periodic management reports summarizing system QoS, incidents, corrective actions and improvements.
  • Maintain a continuously updated log of recommendations to improve stability, resilience and performance of systems.
  • Collaborate with developers to enhance observability by defining clear monitoring guidelines and required metrics in application code.
  • Manage operational notifications and compliance tasks issued from Azure and ensure alignment with Commission security standards.
  • Propose and implement automation of monitoring, alerting, and operational procedures where appropriate.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

The following competencies are required:

  • Proven experience administering and operating systems in a cloud environment (preferably Microsoft Azure).
  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, virtualization, and Linux system administration.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g. Bash, PowerShell, Python, Terraform, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring tools, dashboards, and log aggregation systems.
  • Good understanding of security, compliance, disaster recovery and high-availability principles.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to quickly diagnose complex operational issues.
  • Ability to write clear technical documentation and concise management reports.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with development, security and management teams.
  • Adaptability to evolving technologies and operational tools.

SPECIFIC EXPERTISE

  • Demonstrated operational experience with Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS
  • Hands-on expertise in Docker and Kubernetes operations
  • Practical experience with QoS/monitoring tool integration (e.g. Azure existing tools, Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic Stack, Datadog, or equivalent).

CERTIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS

  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals or equivalent cloud certification required.
  • Additional certifications in DevOps, ITIL v4 Foundation or Kubernetes administration (CKA/CKAD) are considered assets.
