Job Description
Job purpose:
In order to cope with increasing business needs, we need custody service experts to join our fast growing department. Qualified candidates will be chosen to perform day to day global custodian operational tasks. The most talented ones will have further opportunities to participate/manage projects or to take client facing roles.
Responsibilities would be, but not be limited to, the following:
- Safekeeping customer assets.
- Reconcile securities and cash positions in an accurate timely manner.
- Collect and execute clients’ cash and security instructions in an accurate and timely manner.
- Follow up cash and security transaction settlement and resolve any issues.
- A to Z process of Corporate Actions, Proxy voting and/or Income events.
- A to Z process of Global Custodian tax services such as customer tax profile setup, certificates collection, forms, exemption (relief at source), reclaim (quick refund, standard refund), etc.
- Contribute to internal cross-training and operational procedure setup.
- Continually update knowledge of industry standards and developments to communicate to clients.
- Other tasks assigned by team manager and/or department head.
- Support customers on boarding, KYC, handle/follow up on queries plus marketing and sales.
- Participate/Manage settlement automation project and other projects in the pipe line.
Qualifications
Profile (Technical Skills):
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Banking or Business Related Studies
- Preferred but obliged to have minimum 2 years of working experience in custodian operations.
- Fluency in English are essential; Chinese and other languages will be an advantage.
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Good numerical and IT skills; Familiar with SQL, Access, Python, or SWIFT will be added value.
- In-depth knowledge of global custodian industry.
- Expertise in at least one of the following global custodian operations areas: Settlement, Corporate Actions or Tax.
- Expertise in using S.W.I.F.T.
- Knowledge in Olympic System is an advantage.
- Knowledge/Experience in Fund Depositary Services will be an advantage.
