Unix Systems Administrator

For our department Server Administration within General Services, we are looking for a (an):

Unix Systems Administrator

Main duties:

• Design, install, configure and maintain the Windows & Linux systems and virtualization infrastructure
• Ensure the availability, integrity, security and good performance of the IT systems and applications
• Perform incidents resolution and follow-up, problems identification and analysis
• Perform day-to-day infrastructure operations
• Participate in continuous improvement of the overall production environment and write appropriate guidelines where required
• Keep a high level of technical awareness within the assigned area of responsibility
• Participate to IT S&S related projects
• Occasionally provide an administrative support in the scope of the activity.

Required profile:

Minimum required criteria:

• Be holder of a bachelor degree "BAC& 3" in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience in a similar position
• Demonstrate knowledge in current Unix & Linux systems
• Proven experience with automation and scripting
• Have good knowledge of system virtualization and containerization
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of cluster environments.
• Have a proven experience in managing a Storage Area Network (SAN)
• Provide knowledge in Backup and Recovery
• Demonstrate skills in Business Continuity Planning
• Show strong communication and adaptation skills
• Accept to be part of the IT On-Duty team
• Be familiar with standard office applications
• Show good communication skills in English; language skills in French or German is an advantage

Desired or to be acquired criteria:

• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills
• Have knowledge of:
  - RHEL operating systems, including Docker infrastructure
  - Oracle Solaris operating system and Cluster software
  - Automation & CI/CD software
  - EMC Networker backup software
• Show skills in installations and maintenance of DMZ environments
• Demonstrate skills with WEB middleware
• Have a proven experience with LDAP
• Be accurate, detail oriented and reliable
• Be able to work team-oriented and independently
• Show a strong ability to communicate at all levels, both inside and outside the company
• Show user skills in the tools used in the department
• Demonstrate a good sense of urgency and flexibility
• Maintain the strict confidentiality of the data.

The ideal candidate:

• Provide a proven experience with Kubernetes
• Show an experience with APIs and event driven architecture
• Knowledge of Luxemburgish or any other language is considered as asset.
