Job Purpose

To partner Unit Dosing Commercial team with expert financial and local market knowledge, to maximise regional EBITA and cash.

To use broad business and financial knowledge in order to influence pricing decisions, appraise new business opportunities, protect and improve margins, and uphold a strong control environment.


Your responsibilities will be

  • To be a key decision maker in commercial decisions – new business tenders, price increases, NPD, COP, promotions, LTAs – challenging and influencing decisions before they are presented to customers, factoring in analysis of the market, the customer, our competitor threat and our internal capability.
  • To understand the commercial P&L, customer and range profitability, and drive improvement actions, working with the Regional Sales Managers and Key Account Managers. To present alongside the Regional Sales Managers in regional sales reviews.
  • To own the integrity of and update the price increase tracker for all customers within respected regions. To partner the Commercial Director, RSMs and KAMs before, during and after negotiations with customers to provide guidance on targets, advice on where and how to recover inflation and to ensure the impact of those negotiations is enough to meet Group targets.
  • To interogate the output of the monthly S&OP demand plan, to provide performance commentary, and drive action that improves forecast accuracy, insightfulness, and leads to actions being taken. To attend Demand Reviews.
  • To be accountable for whole costing & pricing process in respective regions.
  • Supervision of one Costing Pricing Officer.
  • Accountibility for maintaining SAP costing system for the Unit Dosing Division with responsibility being on Costing Pricing Officer.
  • To train Sales Team to self-serve simple pricing decisions, maintaining financial models and educating the team.
  • To develop financial justifications for commercial-led capital investment decisions.
  • To oversee month end accounting for sales deductions – LTAs, promotions, PRNs, royalties, Plastic Tax.
  • To own the commercial numbers in the quarterly financial forecast, annual budget and 5 Year Planning processes, working with the Sales Team to set stretching but realistic targets, with insightful commentary and clear actions. Ensuring Group submissions are met, and assumptions and targets are well understood by all.
  • To partner marketing on region-specific initiatives and ad hoc queries.
  • To set divisional policies, procedures, templates, authorities and workflows that ensure strong internal controls are upheld. To ensure divisional and Group policies and procedures are implemented at the regional level.
  • To provide ad hoc financial analysis to regional, divisional and Group stakeholders, working closely with the Divisional Financial Controller, Commercial Finance Manager, Finance Director and Commercial Director.

 

Skills and education we are looking for

  • Master Degree in Finance, Business Economics or similar
  • Good mastering of English and the local language of the region
  • Experience of managing an employee is a plus
  • Experience of partnering senior managers
  • Expertly understands the mechanics and drivers of a P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, supplying product to retailers is preferred
  • Experience of operational finance preferred
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office tools. SAP experience preferred
