Senior Accountant (m/f/x) | Luxembourg
About the role
As part of Chemgas, a leading company in the transportation of pressurised LPG over water, we are looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to join our Luxembourg entity and play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
In this position, you will act as an important link between Luxembourg and Rotterdam, ensuring smooth financial processes, reliable reporting and strong operational continuity in an international environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Take ownership of the month-end closing process and ensure accurate, timely reporting.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and oversee VAT returns across Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
• Coordinate Luxembourg payroll administration and related tax declarations.
• Monitor cash flow and support payment approvals and financial administration.
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors, payroll providers and tax advisors.
• Maintain compliant, audit-ready documentation and support continuous process improvement.
Your Profile
• Solid experience in accounting and financial operations.
• Strong expertise in month-end closing and financial reporting.
• Experience with VAT and cross-border finance processes.
• Exposure to Luxembourg payroll administration would be an advantage.
• English is required.
• German at B2 level is sufficient.
• Structured, reliable and able to work independently.
• Comfortable in a hands-on role with a strong sense of ownership.
• Experience in shipping, logistics or another operational environment is a plus.
