Junior Shelter Officer – Luxembourg (M/F/D) – reference: 4398
For a unique opportunity to contribute to the monitoring and implementation of humanitarian projects of the International Aid of the Luxembourg Red Cross A.S.B.L. (AICRL), we are hiring a Junior Shelter Officer on a 12-month fixed-term contract (CDD), working full-time (40h/week). Starting date: as soon as possible.
The position is based in Luxembourg City, with up to 30-40% of working time travelling in Africa (AICRL intervention countries)
As a Junior Shelter Officer, you will be reporting to the Head of Technical Innovation Unit (AICRL-SRU).
You will manage two main projects involving numerous partners and will be responsible for:
- Supporting the creation of a digital innovative tool for project evaluation, and
- Developing a high-impact shelter strategy.
In addition to that, you will:
- Support the SRU Team with logistics administrative and finances task and follow-up.
- In close collaboration with the Head of the SRU provide on demand support with administrative and financial tasks.
- Travel regularly to the countries of intervention (up to 30-40% of your working time) to support the team on the field and implement the project activities.
- In close coordination with the Head of the unit, you will provide on-demand technical support on the AICRL projects.
- You will be participating in the identification and writing of a new project proposal.
- Supporting the participation of the AICRL-SRU in dedicated forums and conferences.
Profil
- Higher education degree in architecture, humanitarian/emergency architecture or in humanitarian Management/leadership
- Strong willingness to support the entire cycle of projects management.
- Professional experience of 0-3 years, ideally in the humanitarian sector and/or in shelter construction
- Ability to work autonomously, be proactive and take initiative
- Strong interest in humanitarian activities and eagerness to learn
- Fluency in English and in French, knowledge of any other language is an asset
