Portfolios & Liquidity Operations Officer

Our client, an Investment Fund company based in Luxembourg, is looking for its future Portfolios & Liquidity Operations Officer.

This will be a temporary contract of 2 months.  Please note that this assignment may be extended, in accordance with Luxembourgish law, for a maximum duration of 1 year.

Your responsabilities :

• Handle cash movements linked to business operations, such as private equity fund drawdowns, guarantee payments, disbursement requests, and the organisation’s general expenses.
• Oversee daily cash receipts, allocate incoming funds correctly, and reconcile outgoing payments.
• Review treasury transactions by checking deals, matching confirmations, and carrying out an initial validation in the treasury system (including money market, FX, deposits, and liquidity operations).
• Keep bank account records up to date in internal systems and prepare documents needed to open or close bank accounts.
• Communicate with banks about the setup, closure, and ongoing management of accounts.
• Support colleagues when team members are on leave.
• Make sure payment instructions are sent to banks on time.
• Organise and maintain filing systems so information can be easily found when needed.
• Assist external auditors when requested.
• Take part in specific projects within the division.

Your profile :

• A university degree in a relevant subject such as Finance, Banking, Business Administration, or a related field (a postgraduate degree is a plus).
• At least 3 years of relevant experience for an Officer role, or 5 years for a Senior Officer role, ideally in payments and settlements within a financial institution or bank.
• Solid understanding of back-office processes and transaction settlement.
• Familiarity with Business Objects and online banking platforms is an advantage.
• Knowledge of SWIFT is also a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional EU languages are beneficial.
• Works well as part of a team.
• Very detail-oriented and accurate.
• Takes initiative and approaches problems proactively.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities.
• Can work under pressure and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
• Adaptable and flexible in response to changing workloads.
• Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Comfortable working in a multicultural environment.
