TASK RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for aircraft communications:
- Main Cargolux contact for the data service providers.
- Check monthly communication related invoices.
- Monitor and optimize the data sent to and from the aircraft.
- Assist and follow-up on any issues related to aircraft data communication such as FMC, CPDLC, DCL, ADS-C.
- Liaise with Eurocontrol, FAA and other agencies/authorities on datalink and aircraft communication.
- Keep the FMC AMI configuration up-to-date. Coordinate with Honeywell if any changes are required and implement on Cargolux fleet.
- Work together with M&E Avionics Engineering to ensure the Cargolux fleet is upgraded to meet any future regulatory communication requirements.
- Ensure backoffice software is compatible with any changes.
Responsible for the ACARS/CMU AOC software:
- Capture AOC change request from stakeholders.
- Optimize AOC datastream of the aircraft with the aim to reduce communication costs.
- Following configuration freeze, ensure new AOC is developed.
- Arrange installation of ACARS AOC software on Cargolux fleet
Responsible for the ACMS software:
- Liaise with Flight Safety department on regular ACMS changes.
- Implement changes to core software following change requests from various stakeholders.
- Compile new ACMS software following incorporation of changes.
- Arrange installation of new ACMS software on Cargolux fleet.
- Liaise with Boeing ACMF group on datamap and ICD issues.
- Ensure backoffice compatibility during aircraft phase-in.
Responsible for the SATCOM:
- Maintain the various SATCOM ORTs (Owner Requirement Table) up-to-date following changes to ATC or AOC directory.
- Compile new SATCOM ORT software following incorporation of changes.
- Arrange installation of new SATCOM software on Cargolux fleet.
- Monitor SATCOM performance and assist.
- During fleet changes, inform relevant agencies / data service providers for registration changes.
- Ensure backoffice compatibility during aircraft phase-in.
Responsible for EGPWS database management:
- Liaise with Honeywell on EGPWS database updates.
- Arrange for regular installation of EGPWS databases on Cargolux fleet.
- Ensure co-notams are issued during active discrepancies between airports and current databases.
Responsible for the Electronic Checklist (ECL) on B747-8F:
- In close cooperation with TPO, define changes to future ECL.
- Arrange with Boeing for the development of a new ECL.
- Arrange for the installation of new ECL on Cargolux fleet in cooperation with TPO.
- Arrange that the OFP DA is updated accordingly.
Flight Operations focal for Boeing Airplane Health Management (AHM) software:
- Manage access to AHM for Flight Operations personnel.
- Monitor and optimize the data sent to and from the aircraft.
- Liaise with Boeing AHM group to ensure proper configuration and setup.
Autoland performance monitoring:
- Collect data on autolands performed by the Cargolux fleet, including autoland discrepancies.
- Monitor regular performance and inform relevant departments if problems or negative trends become visible.
- Issue yearly Autoland Report for DACL.
Other activities:
- Provide assistance to Flight Operations Technical Department department on various projects.
- Provide support to the Technical Pilot department.
- Work together with M&E Avionics Engineering to ensure the Cargolux fleet is upgraded to meet any future regulatory requirements.
- Monitor compliance with applicable regulations.
- Special projects assigned by the Flight Operations Management
- Act as the deputy for the department head.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
- Master in Avionics Engineering
- Experience in Flight Operations Engineering and / or Part M Engineering
- Strong IT background
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Permanent full-time position based in our HQ in Luxembourg.
- Working days Monday-Friday.
- A Certificate of good conduct (Casier judiciaire, Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis) will be required in case of positive selection.
