A well-established and growing financial services firm in Luxembourg is looking to strengthen its Compliance function by hiring an experienced Compliance & AML Officer.
This is a key role within a regulated AIFM and funds environment, offering high visibility, autonomy, and direct interaction with senior management and regulators.
The position is ideal for a compliance professional who enjoys combining regulatory expertise, AML/CFT oversight, and practical business advisory, while contributing to a strong and sustainable compliance culture.
Purpose of the role
As part of the Compliance function, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Corporate and AIFM compliance activities, including AML/CFT responsibilities.
You will support the Conducting Officer for Compliance, act as Responsible for Compliance (RC) for funds, and ensure that the organisation operates in full compliance with Luxembourg laws, regulations, and regulatory expectations.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure ongoing compliance with Luxembourg regulations, internal policies, and regulatory frameworks.
- Provide day-to-day compliance advisory to the business.
- Develop, maintain, and execute the Compliance Monitoring Plan for the AIFM.
- Prepare and present Compliance and AML reports to Boards, senior management, regulators, and clients.
- Act as a key point of contact with the CSSF and other authorities.
- Act as MLCO, overseeing AML/CFT and KYC processes, including onboarding, ongoing monitoring, and periodic reviews.
- Oversee delegated AML activities and review AML/KYC due diligence on investments and counterparties.
- Ensure AML issues, incidents, and breaches are escalated and remediated
- Contribute to governance forums (Boards and Committees) and support regulatory reporting.
- Develop and deliver Compliance and AML training and promote a strong compliance culture.
- Assess, monitor, and report regulatory and compliance risks, providing assurance on control effectiveness.
Profile & requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Compliance Officer in Luxembourg, ideally within an AIFM or funds environment.
- Master's degree in Law, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Strong experience in AML/CFT, KYC, and regulatory compliance for investment funds.
- Exposure to various fund structures (open-ended, closed-ended, authorised, registered, private funds) is a strong asset.
- Solid understanding of Luxembourg regulatory requirements applicable to AIFMs and funds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with senior stakeholders and regulators.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a structured, solution-oriented mindset.
- Relevant Compliance / AML certifications or extensive experience in MLCO / MLRO-type roles are considered an advantage.
